On May 25, 1980, Bishop Crest was transformed by the power of God and faithfully served in various positions for a span of 19½ years at the Holy Light Church of Deliverance, founded by Bishop Samuel L. Carruth. Pastor Crest holds a Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Theology.
Pastor Sharon was converted on September 12, 1976, at Rock Church, founded by Bishop John and Pastor Anne Gimenez, where she also graduated from the Rock Bible Institute with an Associate's Degree in Ministerial Studies. Pastor Sharon faithfully served in a variety of positions at Rock Church and joined Pastor Crest at Holy Light, faithfully serving for an additional 11 years.
Through the direction of the Lord, Pastor Crest met with Bishop Carruth to discuss his vision to start More Than Conquerors Church/Ministries in the city of Virginia Beach. Bishop Carruth affirmed the vision and, on Sunday, November 14, 1999, laid hands and prayed God’s blessings, releasing them to pursue God’s plan.
MTC began with nine adults and their children meeting in Pastor Crest’s home on Wednesday nights and at the Founders Inn on Sundays, subsequently moving to the Clarion Hotel in Virginia Beach, where they held both Wednesday and Sunday services for almost a year. On Tuesday, November 21, 2000, the MTC family celebrated their first year anniversary in their new facility; PRAISE GOD!
Since its inception, MTC has served the Kingdom in various capacities. MTC has sent missionary teams into remote villages in Belize to preach and teach the gospel to Mayan and Garifuna natives. MTC has also ministered in Nicaragua, distributing food in remote areas and ministering to the people of Nicaragua.
MTC is a full-gospel, spirit-filled, non-denominational church with a call to work synergistically with the Body of Christ as we endeavor to fulfill the Great Commission. MTC is a covenant member of the National Pastors Fellowship Assemblies, founded by Bishop Samuel L. Carruth.
