About More Than Conquerors Church

More Than Conquerors Church is a dynamic church located in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Our beliefs are based on the Bible and centered on Jesus Christ. Our mission is very simple: to lead people to honor and glorify Jesus Christ. That means we’re not about a building or some complicated religious system, but about helping people from all backgrounds discover the joy that comes from knowing and serving Jesus Christ.

We invite you to come and check us out this weekend at one of our worship services. We know that going to a new church can be intimidating, so we try to do things in a way that you’ll feel welcome and not like an outsider. When you come, you can participate or just sit back and observe. You’ll discover a warm atmosphere, practical teaching from God's Word, and lots of friendly people pursuing God together.

Meet the Pastors

God made a promise in the Bible that if we seek Him, we’ll find Him. You are a valued part of God’s creation, and His deep desire is to be in a relationship with you. So come and join us as we pursue God together!

Bishop Crest was powerfully saved at the age of 23,  in Holy Light Church of Deliverance, led by Bishop Samuel L. Carruth.  He served in several ministries at Holy Light Church until the Lord led him to establish MTC.   He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Theology. 

On November 21, 1999, More Than Conquerors Church held its first service in Virginia Beach.   MTC has since initiated various ministry efforts, including outdoor community events, live streaming, street evangelism, and several mission trips to Belize and Nicaragua.  Bishop Crest and MTC currently provide coverage and support for ministry efforts in Belize.  

Bishop Crest passionately loves all people with the love of Christ.  He believes in the power of prayer, as the scriptures declare in James 5:16: "The fervent, effectual prayer of a righteous man avails much."   

Senior Pastor Sharon Crest was appointed to serve as More Than Conquerors Church's Senior Pastor [ October 2022]. Before that, she held numerous positions at MTC.  She has held several pastoral positions, including Executive Pastor, Youth Pastor, and Co-Pastor.

She attended Rock Church Bible College, where she received an Associate's degree in Ministerial Studies.  Pastor Sharon ministered alongside Bishop Crest to Mayan Indians in remote jungle villages in Belize, as well as feeding the hungry in Nicaragua.  

William and Sharon have been married for over 37 years, and have been blessed with two sons and several grandchildren.  

More Than Conquerors Church is a covenant member of the National Pastors Fellowship Assemblies under the auspices of the Chief Prelate, Bishop Samuel L. Carruth.
